Welcome!
My name is Dominique Christine
Actor | Singer | IVA Voice Teacher | Medical Scientist
And this is my vocal studio. A space where voice, science, and artistry meet. Whether you’re preparing for a role, rebuilding your voice, or refining your vocal technique — I work with pre-professional and professional singers who have experience in voice work and want to explore their instrument more deeply. This is not a beginner studio, but a space for singers ready to explore their voice with nuance, depth, and support.
I'm currently offering online sessions - vocal release sessions to restore freedom and flexibility - voice lessons -or integrated sessions to develop function and artistry together.

What my lovely clients say
-
What can I expect during a lesson?Lessons have a specific structure, if you have booked a 30min lesson with me. That means, in general, that we spend the first 5 minutes, getting to know you and where your voice is at at the moment. If it's your first lesson, I'll take you through a quick assessment of your voice, so I can pinpoint what we can work on in our lesson. Then, we do 10-15 min exercises that are specific to our lesson goal and the last 10-15 minutes, we apply these newly learned techniques to a song. The last few minutes, we'll discuss what we have done and I'll give you some advice on how and what to practice at home. For 60 minutes lessons, there is overal more time, more time for me to get to know you, talk about any questions you might have, more time for fine tuning exercises and singing larger parts of a song.

How do I prepare for an online voice lesson? You do not need a lot of preparation, there are however a few things to take into account to get the most out of your lesson: Install Skype before the voice lesson, and check if everything works. My Skype username can be found in your confirmation email, add me by saying hello. For your lesson, make sure you are set up in a quiet environment, with a good connection to the internet. Preferably, on a computer, or tablet. When you are ready for your lesson, just send me a message saying "I'm ready" and I'll start the call. After the lesson, the lesson recording will be available for you to download in the chat for 30 days, then it will disappear.
-
Are all voice lessons online or in person? All lessons are given online via Skype. When you book you receive details on how to set up for the Skype lesson. I do not offer in person 1:1 lessons at the moment.

Can I learn to belt?Yes, you definitely can. In fact, you can learn to sing any style that you would want. In order to belt, we have to make sure that you have a well balanced voice, that means that your chest, mix and head voice, are all equally strong, and flow into each other easily. What we refer to as belting is what we call chest-dominant belting. In order to have a full, chest-dominant (mix) belt, you have to have a strong chest and mix voice. All of that is also required for "normal singing", so yes you can definitely over time learn how to belt.
-
Can I only sing Musical Theatre songs in my lesson? No, you are allowed to sing any song you would like. Keep in mind, I specialize in Musical Theatre, which ranges from golden age Legit, to contemporary MT, and pop/rock MT. If you are looking to learn specific other techniques (rock or metal), feel free to send me a message and I'll be happy to refer you to another amazing IVA teacher who specializes in just what you are looking for.
-
How do I practice?Effective practicing is crucial in mastering any skill. Same goes for singing. You can use your lesson recording with exercises to practice at home. I would rather you practice every day for at least 10min, then practice 4 hours on a Saturday. Your voice will improve a lot faster with little daily practice instead of one long exhausting session every week. Everybody can find 10 min in their day to practice a skill you are passionate about to learn.
-
Do I already need to be a good singer to have lessons with you?No, you do not need wait until you are a good singer. You will become a good singer, when you start taking consistent lessons. At this moment, I give lessons to all levels, beginner to professional.
-
Can I cancel or reschedule my lesson?Yes, you can cancel or reschedule your lesson up until 12 hours before your lesson time. After that time, the lesson cannot be cancelled or rescheduled and the full amount remains charged. You can cancel or reschedule your lesson via the instructions given in your confirmation and reminder emails.
